Verdict

GULLIBLE GORDON should be able to go one better than at Chepstow; he may have most to fear from Job One and Tricky Trickster. Form lines would suggest that the selection is the Nicholls first string here and he has an experienced amateur pilot aboard to plot his course. Gullible Gordon didn't show a great deal in a bumper but improved for the switch to hurdling, going close at Wincanton and Chepstow. Whilst chasing will undoubtedly be his game, he should be able to win a race or two over hurdles before switching disciplines. Job One will have his work cut out conceding weight to the selection but he finally looked to be getting his act together when last seen and further progress could see him hold his own this winter. Bump In The Night is the Nicholls second string and is making his hurdling debut. He showed a fair level of form in bumpers and is bred to appreciate this test so it will be interesting to see how he fares. Tricky Trickster won an Irish point on his sole start before changing hands for 40,000 gns; he needs to be monitored in the betting but he'll do well to get the better of Gullible Gordon.
