Verdict
A very good novices' chase and the ones to focus on are Millcroft Seaspray, Stavordale Lad, Fork Lightning, Howrwenow and our selection Supreme Prince. Supreme Prince ended last season by finishing third in a Grade 1 hurdles event at Aintree after finishing seventh in Cheltenham's Royal & SunAlliance hurdle. He clearly has a lot of ability and his chasing debut has been eagerly awaited. Alan King notched a double on Thursday and this dual winning hurdler - at Kempton and Cheltenham no less - could make a bold show to keep the winning boat afloat. The betting market should provide some clues. He clearly has a lot of ability and his chasing debut has been eagerly awaited. Henrietta Knight runs Howrwenow. She won well over hurdles last time, has won an Irish point to point, and will relish this trip. Paul Nicholls' Stavordale Lad is a winning pointer; Muck Savage has shown fair form over hurdles and Millcroft Seaspray's third to Ceannanas Mor over today's course and distance last time has a good look to it. All in all, a decent race of its kind. As we say, watch the betting, but Supreme Prince gets our vote.
