Verdict
Carrig Sam is probably capable of going much higher in the ratings and his two hurdles victories have come on this track. He could just succumb to inexperience here though he holds Homme D'Un Soir and Festival D'ex on their run here in February. The latter's yard is also represented by Folcano, a very close fourth in a Navan Grade B in December before a reasonable run in the Pertemps Final at Cheltenham. FUTURUM REGEM was the winner of that Navan handicap and he's found 3m taxing his stamina in subsequent runs. He needs good ground to show his best so gets the nod in the hope the rain stays away.
