Verdict

Jamie Codd normally rides Gordon Elliott's first-string and is on board impressive Down Royal winner The Mediator here. However, Rob James rode I AM FORTUNATA to a facile victory at Thurles in February and his 7lb claim can prove invaluable. Hunters Yarn is penalised for two bumper victories, the latest in very good style at Limerick, while Eco Pete ran into a good one at Ballinrobe after impressing at Downpatrick last summer. Chautuaqua defied inexperience to storm clear at Clonmel and gets an age allowance.
