Beacon Edge was narrowly beaten into third in the Hatton's Grace here last year but despite making an excellent start over fences at Down Royal he couldn't get to LIFETIME AMBITION, who looks a high-class recruit to chasing as he made most and stayed on strongly. Fury Road, just beaten by Beacon Edge over timber in a Navan Grade 2 in February, was on a retrieval mission after two poor runs over timber when making his chasing bow over 2m5f here. He ran very well but had no answer to Gabynako, who produced an outstanding exhibition of jumping. Cape Gentleman beat last week's Troytown winner Run Wild Fred easily at Cork and found 2m1f too short when attempting to concede the four-year-old filly Riviere D'etel 18lb in a Punchestown Grade 2.
