Thoresby ran well in better company at Cheltenham in December but didn't build on that at Huntingdon the following month. He has a promising conditional on board in Chris Geoghegan, however, and is entitled to go close here. Marvo should have learned from his run at Ascot in November but hasn't shown a lot on the Flat lately so preference here is for MAGIC PROSPECT. A winner on the level in France, Charlie Mann's gelding has been keeping decent company over timber so far and kept on well enough when third to Omaruru at Newbury two weeks ago to suggest he's capable of opening his account today. Sheila's Castle, a winner on the all-weather and placed twice in bumpers, looks the pick of the remainder but may just need this outing.
