In depth

Verdict

Plenty of these have shown potential, and we will give the vote to Always Waining, with Always Flying Capitana and It's Blue Chip the possible dangers. The selection was rated in the nineties on the flat when trained by Mark Johnson, and made a very pleasing start to his hurdling career. It was a gentle introduction in a decent event at Newbury and with that experience behind him he should be capable of landing this modest event. Always Flying belied odds of 25/1 when finishing a gallant third behind Regal Setting at Catterick on his debut and is certain to improve on that effort, he looks the main threat to the selection. Capitana showed plenty of ability on the flat in Germany and is now with Nicky Henderson so she be given plenty of respect. It's Blue Chip is also with a top yard, he was only modest on the flat but may be better at the winter game. Croceira and Nounou may prove best of the rest, but Always Waining had a touch of class on the flat and should be good enough to beat these
