Verdict

MIDSUMMER MAGIC is likely to be sent off at prohibitive odds unless there's a move for Kaladan or one of the other challengers but she's quite difficult to oppose on all known evidence. The Queen's runner is due to be Tony McCoy's only ride on the day which is a clue in itself if the champion deems the journey worth making. The filly made a pleasing debut over this course and distance when placed behind the useful Ravello Bay but she blotted her copybook when failing to justify favouritism on soft ground at Uttoxeter; she's well worth another chance. Plasteredinweston was tailed off on debut, Sweet Robinia was third in this race last year and has minor claims again, A Slice Of Silver hasn't shown a great deal between the flags whilst Clarahib and Spirit Dance don't jump off the page. Kaladan makes a good deal more appeal and hails from a yard that is more than capable of readying newcomers in this sphere but we'll stick with Midsummer Magic.
