In depth

Verdict

Barnaviddaun was in the process of running a decent race at Newbury before unseating his rider. Downtown Getaway left previous form behind when successful over track and trip last month but this is a lot more competitive. Emir Sacree won at Carlisle in November but couldn’t follow up off a 3lb higher mark at Doncaster. Gustavian got rid of Rex Dingle at the first at Exeter on New Year’s Day after a promising debut at Uttoxeter and EASY AS THAT is preferred. Though having a first run since beating Eamon An Cnoic, who runs earlier on the card, over hurdles last February, fitness is rarely an issue for one from his yard and he looks the type to do well over fences.
