    Verdict

Birch Vale battled on stoutly to repel the challenge of Bobndave when scoring at Hexham and is now 3-10 over hurdles. He's up 3lb and may find it demanding to concede 11lb to KHISMET (NAP) who elevated her form to a new level when cruising home at Newton Abbot in what appeared a fairly competitive contest. She faces similar conditions now and can overcome a hefty 13lb increase imposed by the handicapper for that west country success. Sue Be it should be all the better for last month's comeback run after a year's absence and warrants respect on her previous best and Definite Winner is a course and distance winner but was well behind the selection last time.
