Phluke has been in good form of late winning his last two starts and Eve Johnson Houghton's gelding is taken to complete a hat trick and score at the main expense of Gloved Hand and Irony. The last mentioned is entitled to strip fitter for an encouraging reappearance run at Newmarket last month and has to be respected. Andrew Balding's gelding makes more appeal than Mick Channon's Compton's Eleven, who has disappointed of late. Bonnie Prince Blue was good value for his win at Kempton but failed to run up to the same level of form when returned to the turf last time, while McNairobi is less exposed than most of these but is another that has his better form on the sand. Trimlestown would need to improve on the form shown on his reappearance and a bigger threat is likely to come from Ralph Beckett's Gloved Hand, who should come on for her recent run at Newbury. Phluke has done everything asked of him of late though and is taken to score again.
