Verdict
A poor race that sets the trend on this matinee card can go to Jasmine Pearl, with Baytown Flyer, Doctor Dennis and Arfinnit just a few more to conjure with. Suffice to say, bets should be kept to the absolute minimum on a card like this, but a small wager on Jasmine Pearl may get you off to a good start. The four-year-old gained her first ever success at Brighton the time before in a handicap that was, on paper, a bit better than today's banded affair. She has been fairly consistent since joining Buck Jones 18 months ago from Brian Meehan, and in fact has been runner-up on quite a few occasions. She is not one to lump on but surely she should make her presence felt in this mediocre contest. Baytown Flyer was successful at Wolverhampton in May and could make his presence felt, while Doctor Dennis has bits and pieces of placed form in lowly company. Arfinnit has a high draw but that is the only plus point, and for the winner we return to Jasmine Pearl.
