Fruit Salad ran with promise on her Ripon debut in June but Mark Johnston's filly faces no easy task following a three-month break and, at likely odds, looks worth taking on with preference for Mighty Moon, who gets the vote ahead of Tallyhobye and Take No Notice. The last mentioned is a newcomer from the yard of Karl Burke and a market move for the daughter of Imperial Ballet would be of interest. Bryan Smart's Follow My Trail was well held behind Fruit Salad's stablemate Hearthstead Dancer on his Thirsk debut but should have come on for the run, while Wensleydale Star needs to improve on the evidence of two previous starts. John Quinn's Ditton Dancer may improve for the step up in trip although a bigger threat is likely to come from the John Weymes-trained Tallyhobye, who has shown a consistent level of form but is beginning to look exposed. The vote though goes to Mighty Moon who is related to the likes of Moon Madness and Sheriff's Star; although not of the same ability himself, the Lady Herries-trained colt has shown enough to suggest that a race of this nature would be within his compass.
