Amanda Perrett's Best Show ran better than was expected on his Newmarket debut last month and has to be considered in this auction maiden but he may have to settle for minor honours in a race taken to go to WHIPPERWAY, who gets the verdict ahead of Gallant Eagle. Slyvester Kirk's colt is more experienced than most of his opponents and has run well in all three starts, latterly when a close fourth behind Sunraider in a Windsor maiden, and he should be involved at the finish again today. Tom Dascombe's Gold Party ran promisingly first time up at Windsor and has to be considered as do some of the newcomers. James Fanshawe saddles a daughter of Sunraider in Avon Lady and she could be of interest, while Luca Cumani's Diam Queen, a daughter of Lando, cannot be discounted. The vote though goes the way of Mick Channon's Whipperway, who stepped up on the form of her promising debut outing when a close third behind Water Biscuit on ground probably softer than ideal at Goodwood last time and she is taken to open her account on the faster ground today.
