In depth

Verdict

Funseeker is given a narrow vote in this tricky maiden, Quam Celerrime and Skycruiser could be the best alternatives. Mark Johnston's juveniles tend to improve with racing and Funseeker will not have to progress too much to land this prize. She made steady headway at half-way on her Haydock debut and in the end was only three lengths behind the winner. That experience will not be lost on her and she looks the one to be on. Quam Celerrime improved on his debut to chase home Bronze Cannon at Kempton. If showing the same ability on turf he should come into the argument. The Godolphin runner Skycruiser is another to consider following a gentle introduction and Shanzu is not easy to dismiss after her run last time out. All in all a wide open contest but we will come down on the side of Funseeker.
