        Verdict

        Taranaki lines up in the best of form and should pay to follow again, with Greenwood, Bee Stinger, Lizarazu and Flint River the ones to give him most to do. Taranaki has now won three of his last four starts, twice on the Turf course at Lingfield, and at Goodwood in between, and is versatile regarding the going. The Hamblett brothers have got the best out of him, Jamie on the first occasion, and Ashley on the gelding's last two outings, and the lattter is on board again today. In his current mood, it is hard to ignore the claims of Peter Cundell's gelding who should have the measure of Greenwood again, although he is nearly a stone better off and had the selection's measure when they met earlier in the season. Like Greenwood, Lizarazu is better off with Taranaki now and is coming back to form, so cannot be left out of calculations, while Bee Stinger was not helped by the draw at Kempton but still finished around two-lengths off the winner in 10th place. Flint River would have claims on form of old, but has generally been out of form, and so, although the handicapper is catching up, we shall take Taranaki to stay one step ahead.
