Verdict
UPHOLD has been out of sorts in decent handicaps of late but the return to this level should bring out the best in him. There's nothing between him and Avon River at the weights, but the latter has his own ideas about the game and has done all his winning over shorter trips anyway. He finished behind Royal Opera in a claimer on the turf at Lingfield last time and Rod Millman's charge has every chance here, but Bold Marc and Mcconnell are others with something to prove over today's longer distance.
