Verdict
Bumper winner Jidiya has failed to add to his tally over hurdles or on the flat but may do better now that he tackles handicap-company, however, a safer proposition looks to be Nounou, who is taken to confirm recent superiority over Turtle Patriarch. The last mentioned has a 3lb pull with the selection for three-and-a-half lengths on running here over 10 furlongs last week but the winner was doing all of his best work at the end of the race that day and is expected to improve for the longer trip. The Ian Williams-trained Smoothie has dropped to a fair mark and has to be respected but has given little sign of encouragement in two previous starts this term and of more interest may be Peter Cundell's Man The Gate, who should have no problem with the cut in the ground. Best Flight is difficult to recommend with a doubt remaining about the general form of runners form the Barry Hills stable and the vote goes to Nounou.
