Brevity is fancied to gain compensation for an unlucky defeat at Brighton last week. Making good headway from the rear of the field he encountered some traffic problems in going down by three and a half lengths to Swino. Granted better luck in running and with an extra half furlong to travel, he can land the spoils in a weak looking race. Charming Lotte benefitted from the strong handling of Pat Eddery when landing a seller at Pontefract recently, but is not certain to show the same eagerness today, while Shudder ran second in a similar race at Brighton last time and has a fair chance of reaching the frame once again. Rafters Music has been quite busy on the all-weather this winter, winning a fair race at Southwell in February and he does not look too harshly treated on his return to turf, so he could well prove the biggest threat to the selection.
