In depth

Verdict

Little Al is taken to confirm the promise of his debut although support for one of the newcomers would temper confidence. The selection made a promising debut at Uttoxeter where he raced up with the pace for much of the way before fading close home. He should come on for that run whilst Dominic Elsworth takes over in the saddle from an inexperienced amateur. Super Martina is the only other runner to have shown a semblance of form and has claims but she may be better suited by racing against her own sex. The three newcomers all represent yards that are capable of saddling winners in this sphere and all make some appeal on paper. The market should help guide to their chances but Little Al sets a decent standard and should be capable of landing the finale.
