Verdict
An open sprint in which we like the look of Sundried Tomato ahead of Kingscross, Jonny Ebeneezer and Juwwi. The selection won at Ripon from a mark of 79 last April and, now rated 75, is at least on a mark from which we know he can win. He might just provide the answer to this tricky handicap. Jonny Ebeneezer won a Goodwood handicap from a seven-pound higher mark in September 2002 so can be given a chance on that basis, while Kingscross is fully entitled to be competitive from his current mark if fully tuned up for his seasonal return. One who will be fit is Juwwi, who is back to a winning mark, but a number of the others have to show improved form from their current marks to play a part here, while Cashel Mead has yet to recapture his two-year-old form and Canovas Heart, who looked very progressive in 2001, has since been plagued by injury. Overall, though, we will side with Sundried Tomato.
