Verdict
A real stinker of a race to sort out with many having question marks against them and little really standing out form wise. Half The Pot was a plucky winner last time but had previously sulked when not able to get a lead at this course. He cannot be backed with confidence. Orangerie is a better horse than he has shown to date. The trainer may not have found the right riding tactics for him yet and today could be the day he shows his best. Sonny Jim may have won last time out if not making a mistake close home. A better jumping performance may see him go closer here. John Hunter is respected following a better performance last time out. This longer trip should help and he will be suited by the ground. Kildare Chiller will prefer this shorter trip and having shown a liking for this course in the past should go well. Elvis has won twice over this course and distance and has possibilities. Better recent form would make him more of a betting proposition but he has definite place chances.
