General Grey may be better than he showed at Worcester last time, while In Discussion is capable but inconsistent and a safer bet looks to be Maidstone Monument, who has done little wrong of late and is taken to resume winning ways. The selection probably found the softer ground against him at Newton Abbot last time and is worth another chance back on faster ground judged by earlier form in mid-summer at Stratford and here. El Corredor has claims on the pick of his form but David Pipe's yard is struggling for winners at present so he may be best watched. Silent Dream is lightly raced and could be open to improvement on his first start in a handicap, while Sonoma is probably better than he showed at Newton Abbot last time and is another that has to be considered on his first start in this grade. Maidstone Monument has done little wrong of late though and, back under more suitable ground, he gets the vote.
