Verdict
Radcliffe can recoup recent losses by holding the likes of Gigs Gambit and Compton Chick at bay. Venetia Williams' six-year-old was strongly fancied to land the spoils here last time on only his third start over fences, but was put firmly in his place by Rose Tina. That was over four furlongs shorter than today's trip however, and Rose Tina has franked the form by scoring again at Hexham on Friday. So, with the step up in trip and the fact that he will be that more experienced in his favour, Radcliffe should make a bold bid to make amends. Gigs Gambit is a big, scopey sort who opened his account over longer here last time, but he has to concede five pounds to the selection and the drop back in trip is a worry as well. Compton Chick has a good deal of experience but does not win too often and maybe a place is the best that he can hope for again. Take Radcliffe to come good.
