Raslan was a progressive staying handicapper on the level when with Mark Johnston and, with the yard of David Pipe back among the winners again, can be expected to be fit enough to make a winning hurdling debut which he is taken to do at the main expense of Plume d'Oudairies and Irish Whispers. The last mentioned has already won a race over hurdles but has struggled under a penalty in his last two starts and may once again have to settle for a minor role. Stablemate Warne's Way would be an appropriately named winner given The Ashes series in Australia but he would need to improve on Newbury debut form to trouble the judge. Supa Tramp probably needs more time and a bigger threat is likely to come from Henrietta Knight's French import Plume d'Oudairies, who made a promising start to his hurdling career at Folkestone last month. Raslan could be different class to these though and the trip and ground conditions should help bring his stamina into play.
