In depth
Verdict
Overall, this is not a strong race and it presents Brave Spirit with a good chance of getting back to winning ways. Sissinghurst Storm, The River Joker and Master Brew look best of the rest. Much as the selection's winning run came to an end at Exeter last time, he still finished second from today's mark in what was a stronger race than this. With the additional benefit of being a course and distance scorer. he very much looks the one to beat. The River Joker has chances based on his best form but it's been a while since he showed it, while Sissinghurst Storm is three pounds lower than the mark from which he ran pretty well at Towcester in March. Afford him a place chance, along with Master Brew, who is also three pounds lower than the mark from which he was third at Worcester in April. Overall, though, Brave Spirit holds a leading chance in this contest.
