Verdict
We will go against the horses returning from injury and side with Wayward Melody ahead of Tanterari and Dere Lyn. The selection loves it here, and all three of her career successes have come at this track. She is now rated just a pound higher than when scoring over course and distance in a conditional jockeys' event in May, and looks set to run her race. Tanterari has yet to live up to expectations but managed to win last time, although that was a modest event. However, this might not prove to be that strong either so, with his confidence at a high, he has to be afforded respect. Dere Lyn has returned from injury this year better than ever and put in a fair effort at Newton Abbot last time so appears to be on not too bad a mark. Of the others, City Poser has shown fair form but returns now from a long absence, while Admiral Peary looked promising when last seen, but that was 19 months ago. Maybe the market will give some clues in their direction but, for now, we will side with Wayward Melody.
