In depth

Verdict

Having accumulated four seconds and a minor placing from five outings, AMERICAN LADIE is hardly one for the mortgage. However, Alan King's charge still sets the standard and hopefully the first-time application of blinkers will help her to finally break her duck in receipt of 7lb from Lucy's Perfect. The latter has enjoyed a satisfactory season over timber, shows a pleasing attitude to her work and seems sure to run her race, although it would be no surprise to see her plying her trade in handicap company in the future. She rates the danger, with the consistent if exposed The Bishops Baby looking next best on the back of an acceptable effort in handicap company last time.
