Verdict

Cape Stormer is the one to beat, with Royal Stardust seen as the one to give him most to do. Nick Gifford has found what appears to be a suitable opportunity for Cape Stormer to make a winning start for new connections. The ex-Paul Nicholls inmate had been in good form between-the-flags before gaining his first hunter-chase victory at Huntingdon three weeks ago, and now lines up back under rules off a mark of 95. Although there is not much improvement to come, he will take some pegging back off that rating, and should prove too good for Royal Stardust on this occasion. The latter has to shoulder topweight and has been off the track for over a year, so is entitled to need the run today. The market may well reveal if anything else is fancied, but Cape Stormer lines up fitter than most, and should make that count.
