Verdict
I Hope Star impressed on his winning bumper debut in January 2020 but hasn't shown similar ability on subsequent starts after a 343-day break. However, this is not the strongest of races and hopefully he can get back on track with an improved effort. Independence, not been beaten at all far on either start, looks a leading player if transferring his form on an artificial surface to turf. Nevertheless, let's hope SECOND SUBALTERN (NAP) is primed after a 235-day break. He showed real promise on both starts last year for Sam Curling at Aintree and especially Tipperary, A performance close to that Irish effort would make him hard to beat on debut for Thomas Gallagher.
