In depth

Verdict

There will be nothing pretty about our concluding affair but we know that MY LADY GREY appreciates a thorough stamina test and Joe Tizzard’s mare appears the best option in a trappy finale. Sam's Amour caught the eye in defeat at Taunton in March and his rider’s claim could prove invaluable in the final analysis. Brown Bullet won back-to-back prizes last season and while the going was soft, it won’t have been as testing as this. Gardons La ran no sort of race at Chepstow and plenty rests upon the hood having the desired effect while Miss Fedora has a distinct Flat influence to her pedigree and is very much an unknown on the prevailing surface.
