In depth

Verdict

French import PALE RIDER failed to win over hurdles but runs behind Ainama and Time For Rupert were very decent efforts and, though jumping fences late in life, it's significant that Nick Gifford has booked Denis O'Regan for the ride here. The nine-year-old can open his account at the first time of asking in this grade. The Boss let supporters down again at Worcester last time while Doctor Ric has gone up a further 4lb since being beaten at Towcester. Olympian looks to have too much weight so best of the rest may be Ray Diamond.
