Verdict
The possible favourite Wasted Talent is not one to trust so it might pay to side with Waimea Bay. Wasted Talent's form is by far the best on show but she has shown a dislike for her chosen career, as we have mentioned. The selection, although no world beater, has shown enough in runs behind Fontanesi and Fleet Street recently to indicate that he ought to show up well here and, accordingly, gets our vote. Hi Lily has shown more than enough in bumpers, hurdles chases to be considered while River Reine, who has been tried at longer trips recently, is another to consider, along with Cherokee Bay and Volcano Bay, for whom Tony McCoy has been booked. Ruby Glen hails from a stable in form but has shown little in the way of form so far, a comment that applies to most of the field. With that in mind, Wasted Talent will not get many easier opportunities and ought to win. However, we'll take a chance on Waimea Bay.
