In depth
Verdict
Wee Danny might be the one to be on here, with Great Crusader and Monsieur Rose among those to be considered as alternatives. While the selection's winning run came to an end at Aintree in October, he was given a good break prior to his last outing, and is entitled to go well with that run under his belt. Admittedly, he is now seven-pounds in the ratings than for the last of his four-straight victories, his rider takes off seven pounds and for us that swings things in his favour. Joyeux Royal is another with chances but he is now eight pounds in the ratings than for his most-recent hurdle success. Tony McCoy has been booked for Mr Dow Jones but, while he is on a winning mark based on his chasing form, has never won over hurdles. Two locally-trained horses, Great Crusader - who is back to a winning mark - and the improving Monsieur Rose, are others to consider, particularly if attracting money but, overall, Wee Danny gets the call.
