        Verdict

        A poor contest in which Douceur des Songes, who is the only runner in the field with recent worthwhile form, has to be the selection and gets the vote over Greensmith Lane and Momentous Jones. The last mentioned is gradually dropping down the weights but probably needs further assistance from the handicapper if he is to trouble the selection. Greensmith Lane has failed to get into contention in his last three starts but is better treated now than for some time and has to be respected, especially if the market speaks in his favour. Flight To Tuscany has shown little sign of encouragement in three starts over timber but may do better now that she goes handicapping. However, Douceur Des Songes sets a fair standard and will be tough to beat. Martin Pipe's mare opened her account for the season when winning a claiming hurdle at Worcester last month and lost no caste in defeat when a close up fourth behind Sovereign here last time. A reproduction of that most recent effort should suffice for Douceur Des Songes.
