Verdict
Beverley's final meeting of the season gets under way with a weak selling contest in which Grand Lass may beat last year's winner Life Is Beautiful, and Erupt. Grand Lass has not progressed since beaten a short-head at Yarmouth in May in what was a better race than this. She had Jeepstar behind that day, and the fact that he was well in front of her at York last time shows just how much she has regressed. However, Kevin Darley is an eye catching booking, and if Grand Lass can just show a semblance of her old form, a return to the winner's enclosure is on the cards. Life Is Beautiful has dropped over a stone in the weights since landing this event 12 months ago, and ran her best race for some time when second at Redcar recently. She did not enjoy a step up in trip on a return there last time, and will be more at home in this company again. Erupt is another struggling to recapture his old form but cannot be left out of calculations. Bets are best kept to a minimum and a small investment on Grand Lass is the suggestion.
