Verdict
GLENGARRA has solid claims in this company whilst it would be no surprise to see Maclean place again whilst Wondersobright cannot be left out of calculations. The topweight was a fair performer in his prime but proved that he's still capable of competing in the right grade when winning a similar contest in April. He's 10lbs higher now which seems a little harsh but he could get away with it in this company. Maclean has ability but is a less than willing partner when push comes to shove as his record of just one success from twenty three starts over obstacles testifies; he has been placed on seven occasions and could pick up some more prize money. Wondersobright has been more effective as a hurdler in his career but does have a chase win to his name and this is his level. Rustic John hasn't done an awful lot under Rules but has been in fair form between the flags so rates a mention but Glengarra rates the solid option.
