Verdict
Arthur's Oak's victory at Exeter has given out mixed messages. The fourth won next time but the second and third have both been well beaten since. Conceding 6lb, we are going to take on the Venetia Williams gelding with VIRTUEL D'OUDON. Another front-runner, the winning pointer never looked in any danger on his debut under Rules in a Plumpton bumper and looks capable of better. Ballyheigue Bay was a fair third to Sergeant Mattie on his hurdling debut at Plumpton and could be the one to profit should the market leaders take each other on.
