Verdict

CLEVER DICK can be considered an unlucky loser last time at Huntingdon when his jockey appeared to overdo the waiting tactics and he was narrowly beaten. That was his handicap debut and he is clearly better than his overall form figures suggest. Tom Scudamore takes over today and he looks the one to beat off a perfectly workable mark. In contrast, Terra Bleu is far more exposed but he's been most consistent of late, handles this testing ground well and Brendan Powell's 5lb claim will prove more valuable than ever in these heavy conditions. Another competitive effort is anticipated. Little else catches the eye but Newsday would be of interest if recapturing some previously decent form. He showed a little more last time and could be a possible outsider to consider off his lowly handicap perch.
