Verdict

Herons Well found only Sericina too good in a similar event at Ffos Las earlier this month and, on today's terms, would look a good thing if wasn't for the presence of ORNAIS. A smart chaser on his day, Paul Nicholls' charge returned from over two years off the track with a creditable fifth behind Turthen in a hunter chase at Wincanton recently. He's heading for the Grand National and, if running anywhere near his best form here, will take all the beating. Horsham Lad won at Bangor last April but is fit from a couple of placed efforts in point-to-points and looks best of the rest.
