    Verdict

    A small field goes to post for this novices' chase and and it can pay to side with TAKE THE BREEZE who is preferred to Chariot Charger and Penn Da Benn. Paul Nicholls has his string in good form at present and this is much easier than the grade 2 chase he contested at Warwick earlier in the month. The trip was against him that day, but back over this more suitable 2m6f he should take plenty of stopping. Chariot Charger has finished second on each of his last two starts. He should win his fair share of races over fences and he does have ground conditions to suit, but so far his best form has been over hurdles. Penn Da Benn is having only his third run over fences and he posted a good effort to chase home Over Sixty over this course and distance last month. He may be seen to better effect over slightly further in time but he has to be respected. Vamizi looks out of his depth in this company, and we will return to Take The Breeze.

    Penn Da Benn (FR) 22-1 (10-12) Held up in last, not fluent 6th, went 4th 9th, progressed to go 3rd after 12th, 2 lengths down 2 out, beaten approaching last, went 2nd flat, no chance with winner, 2nd of 5, 8l behind Over Sixty (10-5) at Fontwell 2m 6f nov stks (3) sft in Jan.

    Vamizi (IRE) 6-1 (11-0) Chased leader, not fluent 2nd, led 6th to 8th, led after 9th until 10th, reminders after 11th, close 3rd when fell next, in a race won by Kildonnan (11-0) at Towcester 2m 6f beg chase (4) sft, 8 ran.
