In depth

Verdict

A race that shouldn't take much winning and the tentative vote goes to MISS SAFFRON ahead of Etruscan and The Bonus Ball. Susan Gardner's mare put in her best effort at Wincanton last time when second to Cat Six. She has gone up 2lbs in the weights for that but she seemed to click with Jack Doyle who retains the ride and the pairing should run well. Sequel is unexposed but so far her jumping performances have matched her modest flat ability, Jerry Lee ran well when last seen at Towcester but has been off for 669 days since, whilst The Bonus Ball needs a market check as he drops in grade and trip. Head To Kerry is back to a winnable mark, however the bigger danger may be Etruscan. This Selkirk gelding has shaped with promise in three outings but is now fitted with cheek-pieces on this first run in handicap company. Son Of Karinga is considered, but the vote goes to the in-form Miss Saffron.
