City Island looked a nice prospect when landing a Punchestown bumper though could have been found an easier opportunity to make his hurdling debut. DEBUCHET, runner-up in last year's Cheltenham Festival bumper, ran in three Grade 1 hurdles earlier this year and was still in the lead when falling at the second last in the Champion Novices' Hurdle at Punchestown. He's very smart and should start making his mark this season. Getareason won a Downpatrick bumper in March and though beaten at short-odds in subsequent starts it's safe to assume he'll make a hurdler and his stable has won three of the last four renewals. Denis Hogan has already struck at the Festival so dual bumper winner Macgiloney, who has experience over hurdles, is one to keep an eye on. Winning point-to-pointer The Big Lense will find this trip much more to his liking after two bumper runs while Turbo found the minimum trip and fast ground against him at Cork.
