Verdict

It's hard to know what ALMELA achieved when landing odds of 1/3 on her introduction at the Festival as she eventually won by 19 lengths. It wasn't much of a race but it was impossible not to be impressed and she is handed the vote despite a huge leap in class. Her stablemate Zhukova might well be the one to give her most problems as she stayed on very strongly in a Group 3 at Cork last time after an easy maiden success at Navan. Dark Crusader scored over 1m6f at the Festival meeting before heading to York for a Listed contest over today's trip where she ran well without getting the clearest of runs. She can go well along with Stellar Glow, who has been contesting better class events since landing a Leopardstown maiden.
