In depth

Verdict

Alfa Beat won two handicaps over fences very easily before his trainer took advantage of a lenient handicap mark over hurdles at Limerick. He's still progressing but is a massive 14lb higher than for his last victory over fences. KING ALI was very unfortunate not to have beaten Wins Now at The Festival when his rider received a ban for dropping his hands close home. The positions should be reversed this time and he can gain compensation and Tasman, who was a long way behind, is well held. Anthony Mullins found an opportunity for Decoy Daddy on the Flat at Tramore but looked a few pounds high in the weights over fences when runner-up to Head Waiter at Killarney last week. Sarteano is always worth a glance at this level and though now on his highest ever mark he can get competitive.
