In depth

Verdict

INDIAN LANDING's three maiden runs over longer trips hinted at nothing so it was a surprise when he attracted strong support on his handicap debut at Sligo. His supporters never had a moment's concern, however, and he came home with his head in his chest. A 12lb rise was his reward but Ricky Whelan's claim reduces the burden and a follow-up looks likely. Joe Eile is very consistent and not badly treated on the balance of his form but it's Measured Approval who looks the main threat. He's won over 5f and 6f this season but was staying on over the latter trip when a very good fourth in a huge field at the Curragh last time. Eagle Canyon has had a dozen races without managing a victory but he's run well on several occasions and would have found 5f too short last time.
