Verdict
Ballydole have won two of the last three renewals of today’s feature event though dual Guineas winner Hermosa steps up in trip having found one too good in the Coronation Stakes at Royal Ascot. She was beaten by the French filly Watch Me trained by Francis-Henri Graffard on that occasion and the latter should have a good handle on the chances of CHANNEL (NAP) today. She continued her rapid progress with a hard-fought victory in the French Oaks at Chantilly and there looks even more to come. Mehdaayih also won in France last time when landing a Group 2 at Saint-Cloud in good style and the Gosden filly is not out of this having finished in front of Maqsad in the Oaks at Epsom earlier. Rawdaa finished clear of both Sun Maiden and Nyaleti when runner-up to Lah Ti Dar in the Group 2 Middleton Stakes at York in May and has a chance on that form but Just Wonderful looks her yard’s second string and the Japanese filly Deirdre ran below par at Ascot in June.
