In depth
Verdict
Gracia returned to winning ways when successful at Epsom on Thursday but is likely to find this tougher and is passed over in favour of another last time out winner Guilded Flyer, who is preferred to Mamore Gap and Parisien Star. The last mentioned reserves his best form for this track and remains well enough treated. Mamore Gap comes here on the back of wins at Salisbury and Newbury, latterly when beating the selection by a-length-and-three-quarters. However, a 7lb rise since leaves Richard Hannon's horse with more to do and Guilded Flyer, who went for home too soon at Newbury, is strongly fancied to reverse form. The son of Emerati made no mistake when dotting up in an admittedly weaker race at Windsor earlier in the week but could not have been more impressive and is difficult to oppose on that evidence. Sawwaah ran well here earlier in the week and is another worthy of a mention, along with Gay Kelleway's Vortex, for who the booking of Frankie Dettori catches the eye, but it is Guilded Flyer that they all have to beat.
