This contest should provide plenty of clues to the big race run later in the afternoon over the same course and distance. The draw will be a talking point but many of the fancied runners in this will start from a high number including Enrol, who started favourite for the Buckingham Palace Stakes at Royal Ascot but never really figured. She's lightly-raced and could easily bounce back. Dean Ivory will be hoping Links Drive Lady can boost the chances of stablemate Tropics later while Out Do has claims on his third to the latter at Windsor in June. Goldream, Nassau Storm and the hat-trick-seeking Above Standard all look to have place claims while Seeking Magic may have been refreshed by a break and is preferred to stablemates Milly's Gift and Apollo D'Negro. PISCEAN needs a strong gallop and will get that here. Tom Keddy's charge is just the type to go close at big odds so gets a tentative vote, though fellow veteran Baby Strange is also respected under promising 7lb claimer Adam McLean after a clever victory at York.
