        Verdict

        Pearly Wey, Texas Gold and Pic Up Sticks are the three to consider and preference is for Pearly Wey to win at a nice price. Texas Gold hasnt won for a year but is two pounds lower here than when last successful. He enjoys a fast track, and won this race two years ago. He is fully capable of a bold showing here, his run last time can largely be discounted as he was forced to come wide to deliver his challenge, and has run well to be placed in a couple of competitive handicaps. This looks easier and he can go well. The seven year old Pic Up Sticks won successive races at Sandown and Newmarket but was well beaten at York last time when upped in class. He won this last year butcan be taken on at the weights. The three year old Pearly Wey led the field for six furlongs at Leicester last time before being readily outpointed by the progressive Dream Theme. He drops back in trip here to the distance he won over on his two year old debut. Kevin Darley makes the long haul down to Sussex from his North Yorkshire base and his booking looks significant. Pearly Wey can shine here.
